Conference of Religious Leaders Condemn Violence in the Name of Religion
by Dr. D ~ July 1st, 2007
Major leaders from 5 different faiths -Muslims, Buddhists, Christians, Hindus, and Jews, met together at a conference in Indonesia in order promote religious tolerance and stem the tide of violence in the name of religion. Read the LA Times article.
It’s remarkable that they are meeting in a Muslim nation and Muslim leaders are talking with leaders of other faiths including Jews and Christians. It is encouraging that Muslim leaders are joining with the other religious leaders in condemning terrorism and violence in the name of religion. We can only pray that more Muslims will have the courage to do likewise. *Top
